Not your average 70 Series. This is a very rare 4.2-litre turbo-diesel short-wheelbase Land Cruiser with a manual transmission and right-hand drive. In fact, this is the first 4.2 Turbo short-wheelbase Cruiser we have ever encountered. Finished in white and showing 169,000km, it presents very well and has all the old-school character that makes these 70 Series Cruisers so sought after. Short, purposeful and unmistakably Toyota, it is a proper classic 4x4 with serious presence. Mechanically, it has received a new turbo and new injectors. It starts and runs perfectly and is ready to be enjoyed. Strong, simple and built with the famous Land Cruiser reliability in mind, this is the sort of usable Cruiser you can get in and drive. The interior is new, along with a new roofliner, giving the cabin a clean and tidy appearance. The windows have been tinted, the wheels have been powder-coated and the bumper has been painted. These improvements have freshened the vehicle without taking away from its rugged 70 Series character. All lights, gauges, wipers and windows are working as they should. The sunroof is not currently working. Good short-wheelbase 70 Series Cruisers are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and the 4.2-litre turbo-diesel specification makes this one especially unusual.
