About the Land Cruiser FJ

The Land Cruiser FJ is Toyota's most affordable Land Cruiser ever, and one of the most exciting. Built on a modified IMV platform (shared with the Hilux and Fortuner), it brings classic boxy FJ40-inspired design language into a compact, sub-Prado package that launched in South Africa in mid-2026. With a naturally aspirated 2.7-litre petrol engine, a rear differential lock and a low-range transfer case, it punches well above its price point off-road. At R714,000 for the GX and R761,400 for the VX (Toyota South Africa, checked 19 October 2026), it opens Land Cruiser ownership to a new generation of South Africans.
