Who we are

What we collect & why

• Valuation certificate by email. If you ask us to email you a valuation certificate, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you that certificate. We only do this when you tick the consent box.
• Vehicle details you enter (model, year, mileage, condition, province) are stored anonymously to improve our market estimates. On their own these do not identify you.
• Listing & enquiry details. If you submit a vehicle or contact us, we collect the name, email and phone number you provide so we can respond and manage your listing.
• Analytics. We measure how the site is used (pages viewed, buttons tapped) with Plausible, Google Analytics and Hotjar, so we can see what helps buyers and fix what doesn't.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) cookies

We advertise vehicles on Facebook and Instagram. When you use this site, we use the Meta pixel and Meta's Conversions API to tell Meta which vehicles you viewed and when you contacted a seller. This lets Meta show you relevant vehicles and tells us whether our ads work. We send your IP address, browser details and an anonymous ID (scrambled before it leaves our server), never your name, email or phone number. Meta handles this under its own privacy policy.

You can opt out at any time: tap Opt out on our cookie notice, or use cookie settings. After that, none of this happens on this device.

Lawful basis

We process your email for a certificate on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. We process listing and enquiry details to take steps you have asked us to take. We use analytics and Meta cookies in our legitimate interest in running and advertising the site, with a clear notice and an opt-out on every page.

How we use it, and how we don't

We use your information only for the purpose you gave it to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we will not use your certificate email for marketing unless you separately opt in. We share information with third parties only where needed to provide the service you requested (for example, our email delivery provider).

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to its processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info@landcruisersa.co.za and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
