The engineering behind bull bars requires careful consideration in a number of different factors to ensure it properly serves its purpose. This is why things like vehicle design, crush rate, air bag deployment, approach angles, accessory fitment, strength, weight and aesthetics are taken into consideration for every ARB bull bar before it enters production.
Airbag Compatibility
Much research and development has been invested by ARB into vehicle crash barrier tests to make sure the performance is up to standard, including compliance of air bag compatibility with their bull bars. To ensure compatibility, ARB assess each vehicle’s frontal crush characteristics and replicate the crush rate in the design of each air bag compatible bull bar and mounting system.
